FindMySeller Directory Released for General Use

August 24, 2008

The FindMySeller online directory of eBay sellers is now released for general use at FindMySeller.com.

The directory lets people follow an eBay ID to information about their favorite seller. Searching is free, and its free to add ordinary listings. If sellers wish, their data will be uploaded to Google Base.

FindMySeller.com was revealed as a "sneak preview" July 23, and released for public testing August 1.

eBay sellers are invited to register and post links to

  • your unrestricted About Me page
  • your contact email (if you wish)
  • your alternate website.

eBay buyers are invited to search here to find sellers you know and who want to be found.

The directory will become increasingly useful as usage grows, as

  • More Sellers add themselves, and as
  • Buyers learn they can use any eBay ID as a "link" by searching here.

Sellers can spread the word by including in their customer contacts a sentence like

You can always find me through FindMySeller.com

My vision is for a planet of independent shop owners. My purpose here is to promote open information, giving buyers open access to sellers in a way that's immune to the whims of any selling venue. FindMySeller's role will become increasingly important if venues such as eBay ban the open disclosure of email addresses and links to alternate web sites.

Welcome!
